“Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair."
As the founder of Upstart Media I have worked in all aspects of media creation for nearly 15 years and specialize in all things video production. This includes filming, editing, directing, producing, podcast production, and more. Along the way I have worked with a broad list of clients ranging from technology companies (Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, Facebook, YouTube), publishers (Washington Post, USA Today, New York Times), music acts (Moby, Cypress Hill, Santigold, Janelle Monae), sports organizations (Turner Sports, MTV Sports) and a large variety of small businesses and boutique brands. In this capacity, I have worked in every iteration of the word team from a one man show, to an intimate 3-5 member project, and all the way to producing and managing crews as large as 30 people at a time.
It’s also important to us to mention that at Upstart Media we have a Zero Waste profile, operate with a Green Energy standard, and our profits fund a Poverty Education Campaign, as well as our nonprofit Visual Anarchy. If you hire us, you support ethical video production.
I have a special place in my heart for nonprofit organizations and good will projects in general, which is why I founded Visual Anarchy. Visual Anarchy provide pro bono video production services & videos (including video production training) for organizations who may not otherwise have the resources to share their missions. We have worked with George Mark Children's House, Earth Island Institute, Be The Match Bone Marrow Program, Western Regional Advocacy Project, Surfrider, The National Coalition For The Homeless, to name a few. My goal is to continue to transition more of my work projects into socially conscious collaborations.
